Human judgment establishes purpose and accepts responsibility; AI helps people examine evidence, challenge assumptions, and adapt.
AIPM treats a plan as the current hypothesis about how to achieve an outcome. It keeps commitments, constraints, and accountability explicit while changing the route when evidence warrants it, and it reconsiders the outcome itself when customer needs or strategy change. Success means better outcomes with acceptable quality, risk, total cost, and human effort. Faster task completion alone does not establish success.
AIPM isn’t about making teams better at following a methodology. It’s about making teams better at achieving meaningful outcomes, even when that requires challenging the methodology itself.
Three leadership principles
Read the full principles note.
| Principle | Central question |
|---|---|
| True North | What are we trying to accomplish? |
| Stay on Target | Are our decisions, activities, and results actually moving us closer? |
| Break the Mold | What is one thing we could do uncomfortably differently, starting with the leader? |
Cycle: Purpose → Challenge → Experiment → Learn → Adapt → Reassess alignment.
Six operating disciplines
Detailed in the AIPM Framework v1.0.
These are ongoing capabilities, not sequential gates.
| Discipline | Leadership question |
|---|---|
| Strategic intent and value | What should improve, for whom, and why now? |
| Evidence and shared understanding | What do we know, how current is it, and what conflicts? |
| Risk and dependency readiness | What threatens the outcome, and when must we respond? |
| Adaptive delivery and learning | What is the next useful increment or experiment? |
| Decisions and economic judgment | Who must choose, by when, with what tradeoffs? |
| Leadership and learning continuity | How does today’s learning change tomorrow’s work? |
AIPM complements Agile, Scrum, and Lean rather than replacing them. It is a working framework: no field validation is claimed yet, and the skills are advisory aids, not autonomous agents.
